How to Love Your Hair

Loving our hair doesn't come natural to most Black women. Thinking about combing it or doing it ourselves is enough to make us want to stick our heads in the sand. If your goal is to have long, healthy, shiny hair, you will have to love it! You will have to be excited about it! You will have to do it yourself! When people are thrilled about something, they put their whole heart into it. Why not be thrilled about your hair.
You are about to embark on the journey to growing your hair long. Here are 7 Tips to make growing your hair a hobby:
Get Curious!

When you are curious about anything, you are more inspired to take action. Research about your hair type and the best products for you to use. Be curious about the ingredients in the products you already own, and by learning about ingredients to add and subtract from your hair routine.
Visualize!
Visualization is one of the most powerful tools for humans to use to get what we want in life. If you can't see it in your head, you probably won't see it in real life. Start by visualizing the length that you want your hair to be, and commit to doing any and everything possible to achieve that length.
Create Me Time!
Making time for yourself is the key to happiness. When you make time for yourself you are telling yourself that you are important. Set aside a special date night with yourself to do your hair. Make it special! Listen to your favorite songs. Do whatever you think will make it fun!
Make a Wish List!
We all love to browse the malls and the internet for products that interest us. Why not take the time to learn about hair products and tools that will make doing your own hair fun. Look online for tools and products you want to eventually buy for your hair and add it to your wish list.
Experiment!
It is always fun to try new things. Experimenting with homemade hair recipes is not only fun, but it gives your hair nutrients and vitamins that are hard to duplicate in brand name products. Try a different homemade hair recipe each week to add excitement.
Journal It!
When we document our progress, we are more motivated to stay on track and not lose focus. Take photos of your hair growth each month and put them where you can see them.
Create a Group!
We all have hair tips and tricks that we love. Share your hair secrets with a few your friends and co-workers. Create a group where you check-in each week to support each other with advice and motivation.
There are so many things you can do to have fun once you make your hair your hobby!
