Step by Step
Love the freeze frames on the beach and the deceptively glossy camera lens.

This is my favourite travel memory
Me and my uncle David. There is only about 8 years age difference between us. My dad helped deliver him when he was born.
Dad and I walking through Shamar. I carried my black cabbage patch doll Dora around the whole time. She came to Ghana and London with us. I still have her sitting by my bed.
Maria was one of my friends who lived in the same complex as my family in Ghana. She was older than me but only half my size.
Me hanging out with the boys. From left: Armstrong, Joe, Dad, Anthony & me.I remember thinking the best thing about Ghana was that I could drink fanta and eat milkyways still. Everything else was different but this remained the same. How cool is dads get up in this picture? What a cool cat.

We cry for peace but we live for war.
Aaron told me about orangutans in asia that are being shaven and prostituted to willing suitors. WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO?! Why are people so inhumane? I understand that people need money to live, to survive and I am assuming that whomever is running such an operation is desperate but who are these people that are actually paying to have sex with an animal?
Right now I am feeling so helpless. One minute I want to help orangutans in Asia, assist in breeding sea turtles in Guatemala then the next I want to help raise AIDS orphans in Kenya, raise awareness about AIDS in africa and protect hunted elephants.
I wish I could just switch my brain off so that I couldn't think about these things for a while.
How does everyone else cope with it?

This is...

This is Big Moe, the younger but bigger of my two guinea pigs. He has a few really long hairs on the bottom of his back that stick up and sway when he walks around. He was named after a singer that died last year. His favourite food is capsicum and he likes to squeak at me when I come home from work because he is hungry. When he gets excited over fresh hay or coriander leaves, he popcorns. If you don't know what a popcorning/happy guinea pig looks like click here.
This is Pimp C, the smaller but smarter of the two. I adopted him from the RSPCA on a hot day in Feb. He is also named after a fave rapper that died last year. Pimp C isn't as loud as Big Moe but when he is in my lap and gets back rubs he purrs loudly and sprawls out. The more reserved of the two, he likes to sit in his igloo and watch Az and I when we are on the computer.
I have a two storey cage for them made out of ibex cubes with polar fleece lining the bottom of the cage. They live inside with us in our tiny apartment and are so entertaining to watch. Pimp C has just realised that he will get fed before Big Moe if he actually eats out of my hand so when I feed them, he comes up to get first dibs. Big Moe only just cottoned onto this tactic and is now joining in but is still a bit skittish when coming near me.
At mums house we have two fat kitties:
Seko - (Named after dads home town of Sekondi Takoradi in Ghana) is a funny looking thing. She always looks worried with her crazy eyebrows. Mum thinks that she has some mental disability because she is a bit slow but she is a lovely gorgeous little thing. Dad brought her home one day to surprise us - god knows where he got her from. She has fitted in very well in the household and loves a good cuddle, even if she does purr loud enough to be heard from another room.
This is El Nino - formerly known as Elmina (after the province my g'ma grew up in, in Ghana)... the reason for the name change is that we have found that El Nino is a boy rather than the girl we thought he was. He is very pretty indeed, and by far the best cuddler. He likes to snooze under your doona and is always up for tummy rubs. His best friend is Seko and you can usually find them sleeping in the bushes in the back yard together. Mum got El Nino from a friend before realising dad had gotten a kitten too! The more the merrier I say.
